What is Proning?

Proning is the medically accepted process of turning a patient with precise,self motions, from their back onto their abdomen(stomach), so the indivdual is lying face down.

How to Prone (for Oxygen Saturation Improvement during Covid 19)


Why is it important?


- Prone positioning helps improve ventilation,keeps alveolar units open.

- Helps improve oxygenation in covid-19 patients with compromised breathing comfort.



When do you prone?


- only when patient feels breathing difficulty
- oxygen saturation has decreased below 94 (measure regularly using pulse oxymeter once the Covid 19 symptoms has started)

*Regular monitoring of vitals is important during home isolation. Please talk to doctor and consult them for any medication.
